US BO: Adipurush Loses $1M Due to Bad Planning

"Adipurush" had a solid first weekend at the box office in the United States, earning nearly $2.5 million. The Telugu version earned $1.7 million, while the Hindi version earned $800k.

On paper, these figures appear enormous for an Indian film. However, believe it or not, the distributor lost nearly $1 million due to a lack of proper planning.

If the film had a Telugu distributor and better planning, the opening weekend could have been close to $4 million. The Telugu version alone had the potential to earn $1.5 million from premiere screenings. Unfortunately, this opportunity was squandered.

Adipurush (Telugu): Fri (+premiere):   $1,195,316  Sat: $271,511 Sun: $178,437 Total Weekend Gross: $ 1.62M Readmore!

Adipurush (Hind): Fri: $342,391 Sat: $297,354 Sun: $209, 441 Total Weekend Gross: $849k

The distributor also failed to reach the Tamil and Malayalam audiences, resulting in almost no revenue from these two versions.

The box office performance of "Adipurush" once again demonstrated that traditional Telugu distributors are the best at fully exploiting the market.
