TRS joins protest in Sonia's, Revanth shocked!

Even as the Telangana Congress party leaders and cadre led by Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy were holding massive protests at Necklace Road in Hyderabad in protest against the questioning of party president Sonia Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate, they received a rude shock from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

For, the TRS joined the protests by the opposition parties in support of Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi and decided to put up a joint fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre.

Senior TRS parliamentary party K Kesava Rao along with two other MPs Nama Nageshwara Rao and J Santosh Kumar attended a meeting convened by Congress party flood leader in Rajya Sabha Mallikharjun Kharge to discuss a joint strategy to fight against the harassment of Sonia Gandhi by the ED.

Apart from the TRS, the parties, whose representatives were present in the meeting were the DMK, CPI(M), CPI, IUML, National Conference, MDMK, NCP, VCK, Shiv Sena and RJD. Readmore!

They issued a joint statement condemning the questioning of Sonia Gandhi by the ED authorities in the National Herald case.

On behalf of the TRS, Kesava Rao signed the statement, which said they would jointly fight against the alleged harassment of the opposition leaders by the Modi government by misusing central agencies.

Though the TRS had earlier attended the meeting convened by Kharge, it was for a different purpose. But this time, it was in support of Sonia Gandhi.

Apparently, TRS president and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made a tactical move to silence the Congress back home.

Naturally, KCR’s strategy stumped Revanth Reddy who was putting up an aggressive posture against KCR. This strategy will now help the BJP to grow further, as it would use this opportunity to convey the message that the TRS and Congress had joined hands.
