Telugu cinema producers are eagerly waiting to see how Solo Brathuke So Better fares at the box office.
It is the first notable Telugu film to hit the theaters since the pandemic brought the film business to a grinding halt.
Although SBSB is releasing in theaters, it is not a conventional theatrical release as there is literally no risk for the producer.
The film’s entire negative rights were sold to Zee Studio and they resold the theatrical rights for a nominal price to UV Distributors and Dil Raju.
The stakes are less than half compared to a regular Sai Dharam Tej starrer.
Zee was happy to sell the theatrical rights for a throwaway price as getting anything back through this avenue is a bonus for them.
If this clicks and Zee Studio comes forward to buy the upcoming notable releases in similar fashion producers are happy to take this route.
They don’t want to sell the distribution rights in the conventional way with the restrictions still on. Producers are hoping that normalcy will be restored by April or May.
