The Plight Of 'Khushi' At Theatres

The first weekend for "Khushi" has come to a close, and the film's performance has been a mixed bag.

Some regions have seen success, while others have faced a lackluster response.

For Vijay Deverakonda, it's been a much-needed relief after a considerable time. Samantha, too, has a reasonable outcome, although it hasn't been as satisfying as expected due to various factors.

The movie's release coincided with a cricket match, affecting its opening day collections. While Sunday showed promise, Monday brought its own challenges, including a storm in Uttarandhra and Nizam regions. Readmore!

Despite garnering positive attention in the media, "Khushi" received mixed reviews at the grassroots level.

Love genre films have been facing difficulties in achieving success lately, especially among the urban audience, leaving rare exceptions.

This has raised concerns in trade circles, with doubts about whether the film's buyers can recover their investment. Breaking even, which requires earning 6 Crores including expenses in the Ceded areas, appears to be a challenging task.

The film has shown promise in Nizam, with a collection of 11 crores out of the targeted 15 crores. However, regions like Vizag, East, West, Krishna, Guntur, and Nellore have seen relatively lackluster results, particularly in Krishna and Guntur.

Adding to the competition, "Shetty-Polishetty" and "Jawaan" are slated for release in the coming days. "Jawaan" is expected to have a stronger impact in the Nizam region, while "Shetty-Polishetty" will depend on its performance to make a mark.

"Khushi" will have to navigate adverse weather conditions and competition from other films to sustain its momentum. Nevertheless, the makers of "Khushi" have managed to secure some profits for Mythri Movies

. The funds invested in the stalled movie "Hero" and expenses related to a couple of smaller releases will come back with this film as per the estimate. But still, its a fingers-crossed situation.
