Telangana Stops Ambulances From Andhra Pradesh

The Telangana state government had stopped entry of ambulances from Andhra Pradesh from Monday.

As the AP government is not allowing the vehicles from other states at the border due to curfew from May 5, the TS government reacted today stopping the ambulances.

Some of the Covid 19 patients are moving to some corporate hospitals in Telangana, as AP government recognises them for the treatment, including treatment under Arogyasri scheme.

The AP officials tried to contact their Telangana counterparts in vain to permit the entry of ambulances carrying covid 19 patients.

The AP officials resent the TS decision as Hyderabad is common capital for both the states till 2024, as per the AP Reorganisation Act 2014.

“It is not wise and acceptable to stop the ambulances from AP into Telangana. Hyderabad is common capital for AP too and the TS officials should realise it,” a senior official of the health department in AP said.

It is to be seen if the TS would change its decision and allow the covid 19 ambulances from AP to enter Hyderabad.
