Actress Tejaswi Madivada’s recent revelations about casting couch generated tremors in Film Nagar.
In an interview, she revealed that she was asked by several producers and directors to sleep with them for films.
Tejaswi’s statements have become fodder for YouTube channels and media. she also became a trending topic on social media.
But two days later, a clarification came from her terming that those statements were part of promotional material for her upcoming web series named “Commitment”, which deals with the issue of casting couch in the movie industry. Tejaswi backtracks on the revelations she made.
“Commitment is about casting couch, and I did an interview on it with my director Lakshmikanth Chenna, we had our opinions about it and all we did was a video interview, rest of the speculations idk idc,” Tejaswi Madivada posted on her social media handle.
In her recent interview, Tejaswi said that industry people had a different opinion about her after she acted boldly in a Ram Gopal Varma film.
“Since I had acted in RGV’s film and displayed skin as per the role, many makers had thought I am ‘easily available’ and ‘ready for anything’. I had received propositions to sleep with them (producers and directors),” Tejaswi confessed.
Delving further on the menace of casting couch and the some of filmmakers’ attitude women in the industry, she said she was offered to go full nude in a web series. Tejaswi, however, turned down the offer.
She also boldly made said that she may now take up the offer of acting nude. After getting enough publicity, Tejaswi now says, “Tooch, it was part of the promotion for my web series.”
