TDP walks out of mock assembly held online!

Telugu Desam Party members of Andhra Pradesh state legislative assembly staged a walk-out from the House in protest against the alleged 'custodial torture' of rebel YSR Congress MP from Narsapuram K Raghurama Krishnam Raju.

One might wonder how the TDP members can stage a walkout when the budget session was adjourned sine die after holding a single-day session on Thursday itself.

Well, it was a mock-assembly session held by the TDP after boycotting the actual budget session.

What is more surprising is that the walk-out happened “online” as the mock-assembly session was held virtually through video conference method by leader of the opposition and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. Readmore!

So, it was all for the sake of publicity. In fact, the TDP claimed that it had “brought the proceedings of the mock assembly to a standstill and staged a walk-out” in protest against the torture of the YSRC MP, as was evident from the medical report submitted by the Army Hospital in Secunderabad confirming fractures and injuries in Raju's leg.

The TDP members demanded the resignation of chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, holding him responsible for the ongoing oppression in Andhra Pradesh as evident from the manner in which a sitting member of Lok Sabha became a victim of 'custodial violence'.

From day one, the CM perpetrated atrocities against the rival leaders and all those who questioned the legality and constitutionality of his Government's decisions, the members said before the walkout.

The members of the House passed a unanimous resolution expressing their protest against the privatisation of the Vizag Steel Plant, which was a matter of sentiment for the AP people.
