TDP To Be Biggest Loser For Allying With Cong!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu might be dreaming of playing a big role in the national politics by joining hands with the Congress and the other regional parties, but it is going to backfire on the TDP back home in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

This was the prediction of a public survey conducted by Republic TV in association with popular survey agency C-Voter. The alliance will benefit the Congress party much and will spell doom for the TDP, the survey said.

In Telangana, according to this survey, the Congress is going to improve its tally in the Lok Sabha from two seats in 2014 (one of whom Gutha Sukhender Reddy) to eight in 2019 elections. The TRS will be down from 11 to seven, while the BJP and MIM will get one seat each. The TDP which had won one seat (Ch Malla Reddy from Malkajgiri, who later joined the TRS), will draw a blank in Telangana.

As far assembly elections are concerned, the Congress will improve its position with 32.2 per cent vote share, compared to 30.4 per cent of the TRS. The BJP will get 19 per cent votes and MIM 3.9 per cent votes, while the TJS and others will get 14 per cent votes. Here again, the TDP will be the loser, as the Congress votes will not transfer to the TDP. Readmore!

With regard to Andhra Pradesh, the TDP will suffer heavy losses in the assembly elections, as its vote share would come down to 31.2 per cent, compared to 41.3 per cent of the YSR Congress party in the assembly elections. As regards Lok Sabha elections, the YSRC will win 20 MP seats out of 25 in 2019 elections, the survey says.

“The TDP is going to pay heavy price for coming out of the NDA, which will be capitalized by the YSRC,” Republic TV CEO Arnab Goswami said.

The Republic TV-CVoter's National Approval Ratings have shed light on how the political flux may have affected matters on-ground in the context of elections, a YSRC source said.
