TDP MLA faces sexual assault charges

A senior woman leader of Telugu Desam Party in Satyavedu assembly constituency in Chittoor district on Thursday made a sensational allegation against local party MLA Koneti Adimoolam stating that he had sexually assaulted her at a hotel in Tirupati in July.

She addressed a press conference at Tirupati and disclosed a few video clippings of the MLA misbehaving with her at the hotel.

She also wrote a letter to party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and general secretary Nara Lokesh, asking them to sack the MLA from the post as well as party.

She said she had strongly opposed giving ticket to Adimoolam before the last elections, after he defected from YSR Congress party to the TDP. Yet,  she had to comply with the party decision and worked for the MLA’s victory. Readmore!

The TDP woman leader said Adimoolam who had taken her number as part of the party programmes, started calling her regularly and making sexual overtures.

“Last month, he called me a hotel room in Tirupati, where he sexually assaulted me,” she alleged.

Stating that the MLA had blackmailed her saying he would kill her and her family if she revealed the same to anybody, the woman said he had raped her thrice in the same hotel.

“At last, I have decided to expose him and so, when he called me to the hotel for the third time, I took a pen camera with him and recorded his sexual assault,” she claimed.

The TDP woman leader also alleged that Adimoolam was a womaniser and he had raped several women.

“If any woman did not succumb to his sexual desires, he would torture her,” she said and requested the party to save the woman activists of the party from the MLA.
