TDP-Jana Sena to form JAC without BJP!

Taking the alliance talks to the next step, the Telugu Desam Party and the Jana Sena Party are planning to form a joint action committee (JAC) at their first meeting at Rajahmundry on October 23.

The meeting will be attended by TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh and Jana Sena Party president and actor Pawan Kalyan, along with their party seniors.

The JAC is expected to continue to work for both the state assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh in 2024.

The meeting assumes significance in the wake of the heated political atmosphere in the state following the arrest of TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) in connection with alleged state skill development scam. Readmore!

The JAC, which will comprise senior leaders from both the parties, will chalk out a joint action plan to address public issues, the latest political developments, and coordination between both parties.

The meeting will also aim to strategise and accelerate political activities across Andhra Pradesh. Naidu, who is presently in the Rajahmundry jail, will be consulted before formulating the action plan.

Though Pawan Kalyan exuded confidence that BJP would join the alliance, there has not been any word from the saffron party till now. Yet, the BJP leaders say they have an alliance with the Jana Sena.

Sources said Pawan Kalyan might also join for some time the proposed yatra by Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneshwari to call on the families of those who died of grief or committed suicide following Naidu’s arrest.

He already disapproved of the YSRCP’s alleged fabrication of corruption charges against Naidu.
