YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy along with his wife Y S Bharati Reddy left for his Europe tour in his personal flight on Friday and landed in London, amidst tumultuous welcome from his supporters.
He will be spending a few days with his daughter who is pursuing her graduation there and later, he would go on a tour to other parts of Europe, including France and Switzerland. He would be returning to India on June 1.
On Saturday, there are reports that his sister and Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Y S Sharmila, who raised a banner of revolt against her brother by contesting from Kadapa parliamentary constituency, also left for abroad on a holiday.
According to these reports, Sharmila left for the United States of America to join her mother Y S Vijayamma, who is staying with her son Y S Raja Reddy.
She would spend a couple of weeks with her son’s family, before returning to Andhra Pradesh on June 2, a couple of days before the election results.
Raja Reddy got married in February to Priyanka Atluri and soon after the wedding, they left for the US, where they are working.
Vijayamma, who was caught in the sibling political rivalry, left for the US in April to avoid inconvenience to both son and daughter.
However, a few days before the polling, Vijayamma released a video, asking the voters of Kadapa to support her daughter Sharmilamma and bless her with victory in the elections. The video came as a big embarrassment to Jagan.
It is learnt Vijayamma will also return to Hyderabad along with Sharmila, while Jagan will return to his Tadepalli residence.
“Though both brother and sister are away from their home state, their minds would be revolving around Andhra politics only,” a source close to the family said.
