It's no secret that Samantha Ruth Prabhu's bold and sizzling appearance in the dance number "Oo Antava" from Pushpa set the big screen on fire.
Fans couldn’t get enough of her sensuous dance moves and her electric chemistry with Allu Arjun. However, did you know her friends and family advised her against taking up the dance number? That’s right!
They felt it might not be the right choice, considering she was going through her separation from ex-husband Naga Chaitanya.
In a previous interview with an entertainment magazine, Samantha recalled that her loved ones had advised her to skip the song, given her ongoing separation. Yet, undeterred, the Shaakuntalam actress decided to go ahead with it, and the rest is history.
Reflecting on that time, Samantha shared, “When I was offered Oo Antava, I was in the middle of the separation. Every friend and family member told me to stay home and avoid doing an item song right after announcing my separation.”
Despite the advice, the Kushi actress gave the green light for Oo Antava because she saw no reason to reject it.
Samantha added, “Why should I hide it? I didn’t do anything wrong. I gave my marriage 100 percent, but it didn’t work out. I wasn’t going to beat myself up or feel guilty for something that wasn’t my fault.”
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Samantha’s highly anticipated series, Citadel: Honey Bunny, premiered on Amazon Prime Video on Wednesday, November 6.
The show, a follow-up to Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden’s Citadel, has received overwhelming praise from fans.
