'Salaar' Targets: Can Prabhas Beat These Records?

Prabhas is set to grace theaters with the movie "Salaar." Does he have records to break?

Recent records in Indian box office suggest so, with films like Vijay's "Leo," Shah Rukh's "Jawaan," and Ranbir Kapoor's "Animal" making significant records this year. Prabhas may aim to surpass these benchmarks with "Salaar."

Let's delve into openings first. "Leo" claimed the throne this year, raking in an estimated Rs 135 crore worldwide on its debut day.

Shah Rukh's "Jawaan" grossed Rs 129.6 crore globally on day one, and the recent "Animal" movie opened with Rs 116 crore. Therefore, "Salaar" needs to outshine "Leo" in its opening to set a new record. Readmore!

Looking at overall collections, "Jawaan" crossed the thousand crore mark, reaching Rs 1148 crore worldwide. The ongoing "Animal" movie is on track to join the thousand crore club. "Salaar" must surpass the achievements of these two films.

This is Prabhas' immediate goal – to surpass records set this year before tackling others.

"Salaar" has an advantage, with some expressing confidence in its ability to make significant collections due to high expectations, advanced bookings, and midnight shows in Nizam.

However, practical challenges arise as Prabhas' previous Bollywood ventures, "Adipurush" and "Radhe Shyam," did not perform exceptionally well. "Salaar" needs blockbuster acclaim in the North Belt to make a mark.

Moreover, tough competition looms with Shahrukh's "Dunki" domestically and "Aquaman-2" internationally.

"Dunki" secured more theaters than "Salaar" in the North, and "Aquaman-2" forced "Salaar" to miss out on many significant screens overseas.

Overcoming this competition, "Salaar" must achieve substantial collections. We need to see what is store from Prabhas's craze in the last week of this year.
