Revanth Reddy regretting joining Congress?

For the last few days, there have been reports that Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy has been facing the toughest challenge of his political career.

Though the high command intervened and deputed senior AICC leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh to douse the fire, the situation has not come under control. Now, everybody has started pointing an accusing finger at Revanth Reddy.

Soon after Digvijay Singh left for Delhi, Revanth Reddy got the information that AICC in-charge of Telangana affairs Manickam Tagore might be sacked. This led to the talk that Revanth Reddy also might be replaced sooner than later. Readmore!

This led to speculations in the media that Revanth Reddy is planning to step down and resign from the party soon and that he is contemplating launching a new regional party ahead of next elections.

Though the PCC chief strongly refuted the rumours and his followers even lodged a complaint with the police against the rumour mongers, sources said there must be some truth in it, as there would be no smoke without fire.

“It is a fact that Revanth Reddy is a frustrated man, because of lack of cooperation from several seniors. He is feeling isolated within the party. He is definitely ruing joining the Congress party, as he never expected that he would face such a resistance from within the party,” a source said.

Revanth is learnt to have confided to his close associates that he would gave gained a lot of mileage had he floated a regional party four years ago, rather than joining the Congress party.

“By this time, he would have emerged a strong opponent for the TRS (now BRS) and the BJP would not have got a chance to rise to the top position in the state. He would have given the BRS a run for its money by now,” the source said.
