Revanth not to encourage family members!

Even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been attacking the Congress party and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) as the family-based parties encouraging dynasty rule, Telangana Congress president and chief minister A Revanth Reddy announced that he won’t encourage his family members in politics.

He was reacting to the reports doing rounds in a section of media that his brothers – Anumula Krishna Reddy and Anumula Kondal Reddy – would be contesting on the Congress ticket from Malkajgiri and Mahabubnagar parliamentary constituencies respectively.

Revanth Reddy told reporters that there was no truth whatsoever in these reports.

“Neither of my brothers will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections. I don’t encourage my family members in politics,” he said. Readmore!

However, both the brothers have played a key role for Revanth Reddy in the November 30 assembly elections in Telangana. While Kondal Reddy worked for the PCC chief in Kodangal, another brother worked for him in Kamareddy.

There were allegations that both the brothers had been indirectly dominating the party politics in Mahabubnagar district and have been indulging in various money-making activities on behalf of his brother. But they haven’t come out in public so far.

Revanth Reddy also rejected the allegations of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders that he was poaching the BRS MLAs into the Congress.

“There is absolutely no politics in some BRS MLAs meeting me. I am not asking any MLA to come to me. They are meeting me regarding their constituency issues,” he said.

The chief minister demanded how KCR had come to the conclusion that the Congress government would collapse in five or six months.

“How can KCR, who doesn’t even come to the state assembly, talk about the government and public issues?” he asked.
