The Congress party leaders issued significant advertisements in several prominent Telugu and English newspapers on Sunday to welcome AICC leader Rahul Gandhi to the Congress public meeting scheduled to be held in Khammam on Sunday evening.
The Khammam public meeting aims to celebrate the culmination of CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka's padayatra, which lasted nearly 110 days and covered over 1,360 kilometers from Adilabad to Khammam, enduring extreme summer heat conditions.
However, the advertisements released by Congress leaders for this occasion prominently feature the pictures of TPCC chief Revanth Reddy, former BRS Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, along with Rahul Gandhi.
Unfortunately, poor Bhatti, who walked tirelessly under scorching heat for over three months, was neglected in these ads.
Even in the few advertisements that included Bhatti's pictures, they were so small that one would require a magnifying glass to identify him.
To make matters worse, these advertisements presented the public meeting as "Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy joining the Congress" rather than highlighting it as the culmination of Bhatti's padayatra.
These advertisements clearly illustrate the intense power struggle within the Congress, with top leaders vying for the attention of the party high command and the people to secure the position of Chief Minister in the event of Congress coming to power in Telangana in the upcoming Assembly polls in December.
