Rajagopal wants more time to join BJP!

Suspense continues over the defection of Congress MLA from Munugode assembly constituency Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy into the Bharatiya Janata Party, as the MLA appears to be playing a double game.

BJP state president Bandi Sanjay who made an open announcement that Rajagopal would be joining the BJP along with a few others, called up the MLA and asked him to come to Delhi on Friday to formally make an entry into the party.

He already took the appointment of BJP national leadership including party president J P Nadda and Union home minister Amit Shah. But to his utter surprise, Rajagopal told him that he wanted one more week to take a decision.

Apparently, the Munugode MLA is under pressure from the Congress leadership to stay back in the party in the best interest of his political career. Readmore!

Secondly, the party cadre in Munugode is also not willing to follow him into the BJP, which is an insignificant force in Nalgonda district.

The party workers reportedly told Rajagopal that the chances of his victory in the by-elections in the event of him quitting the assembly membership are bleak, as the Congress party is very strong in the district. Moreover, the TRS also will use all its resources to defeat him.

Though Rajagopal is in second thoughts over quitting the assembly membership, the BJP leadership is insisting that he should join the party only after resigning from the assembly. So, he is undecided on this aspect.

The BJP state leadership is also upset with Rajagopal’s inconsistent stand on joining the party for the last two years and if he continues with this uncertainty, he will lose his credibility among the people.
