Prakash Raj out of KCR radar again?

It is very difficult to know what is there in the mind of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Nobody knows why he likes a person one day and why he dislikes the same person very next day.

Till the other day, film star-activist Prakash Raj had been the talk of the town in Telangana. He was seen closely moving with KCR.

He was even made part of the discussions between KCR and Maharashtra chief minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray at the latter’s residence in February.

The meeting between KCR and Thackeray was essentially to discuss the strategy to build up an anti-BJP political platform aimed at pulling down the Narendra Modi government.

Since Prakash Raj is also part of the anti-Modi bandwagon, his presence at the meeting was understandable.

Prakash Raj was also part of KCR’s discussions with political strategist Prashant Kishor on the national political issues; and both of them were even seen together at Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project.

This led to the speculation that Prakash Raj may join the TRS and play a major role in KCR’s efforts to build up an anti-BJP front.

There was also a talk that the TRS chief might entrust him with the responsibility of liaisoning with various anti-BJP parties, as Prakash Raj has good connections with Stalin of Tamil Nadu and Kumara Swamy of Karnataka.

At one stage, there was also a talk that KCR might give Rajya Sabha ticket to Prakash Raj, so that he would look after the national political activities of the TRS in New Delhi.

Some reports said KCR is planning to constitute a committee at Delhi to work out his role in national politics and Prakash Raj would head the committee.

It has been more than two and a half months since the meetings happened but after that Prakash Raj has suddenly gone out of KCR’s radar. He was nowhere to be seen in KCR’s Delhi visit and his dharnas.

He was also not seen in the latest hectic deliberations between KCR and Prashant Kishor, nor was he made part of the TRS plenary, assuming that he is being considered for the Rajya Sabha nomination.

Apparently, KCR has dumped Prakash Raj from his scheme of things. Since he has withdrawn his idea of forming a national political front following lack of response from other regional parties, he might have thought there is no need for people like Prakash Raj.

But nobody knows when and how KCR will need Prakash Raj again. Till such time, the actor has to wait patiently!
