Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s pot shots at the Andhra Pradesh government four days ago continued to evoke sharp reactions from the YSR Congress party leaders.
For the second consecutive day, state information and public relations minister Perni Venkatramaiah alias Nani made caustic remarks against the TRS chief for saying that he had been getting invitations from Andhra people to launch the TRS in their state as well.
“Forget launching the TRS in Andhra Pradesh, let him understand why new political parties are coming up in Telangana. Y S Sharmila launched has launched her party and an IPS officer took voluntary retirement to join the BSP as an alternative to the TRS,” he pointed out.
Nani said there is a big political vacuum in Telangana and that was the reason why new parties were coming up in that state.
“There is no such situation in Andhra Pradesh because YSR Congress party headed by Jagan Mohan Reddy is firmly rooted in the state,” he said.
The minister said the YSR Congress party had secured 151 assembly seats and the people are not feeling any political vacuum due to implementation of welfare schemes in a big way.
“So, there is no scope for the TRS or any other new party in our state,” the minister said.
Nani also accused KCR of backtracking on river water utilisation. While the Telangana was drawing excess water, Andhra Pradesh was not utilising even a single drop more than what was allocated to it.
On Thursday, too, Nani said there was no need for KCR to launch the TRS separately in Andhra Pradesh.
“He can ask the Centre to integrate both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh once again, so that his party can have its existence in both the regions,” he said.
Stating that both the Telugu states required to work in coordination, the minister reminded to KCR that the distance between Hyderabad and Vijayawada is same either way.
