Dacoit: A Love Story, the directorial debut of cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Shaneil Deo, hit theatres on Friday.
Starring Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur, and Anurag Kashyap, the film has crossed â¹20 crore net in India. After maintaining steady numbers over the weekend, it witnessed an expected dip on Monday.
According to trade estimates, the film collected around â¹2.01 crore net on its first Monday, taking its total domestic earnings to approximately â¹21.81 crore.
The drop was on expected lines, as weekday collections typically decline after a stable weekend run.
The film opened with â¹6.55 crore on Friday and saw slight growth over the weekend, collecting â¹6.85 crore on Saturday and â¹6.40 crore on Sunday.
Despite being shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, Dacoit is performing better in the Telugu version.
With its domestic total crossing â¹20 crore, the film is likely to surpass the â¹25.92 crore lifetime collection of Adivi Sesh’s earlier film HIT: The Second Case soon. However, it still has some distance to cover to overtake Major, which earned â¹41.03 crore in India.
