Hyderabad police interrogated actor Allu Arjun for four hours on Tuesday regarding the December 4 stampede at Sandhya 70 MM Theatre.
The actor appeared at the Chikkadpally police station, accompanied by his father-in-law, K Chandrashekhar Reddy, after consulting his legal team earlier that morning at his Jubilee Hills residence.
Chikkadpally ACP L Ramesh Kumar and Inspector B Raju Naik questioned Arjun extensively, focusing on when he became aware of the incident.
They noted discrepancies in his previous statement, where he claimed he learned about the stampede the day after it occurred.
The police also inquired about Arjun's allegations of character assassination, which he mentioned during a press conference held after Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy detailed the incident in the state assembly.
Sources reveal that Arjun largely remained silent during the questioning, offering minimal responses.
Security at the Chikkadpally police station was significantly tightened, with a 200-meter perimeter restricted to ensure order during his appearance.
Arjun, listed as Accused No. 11 in the case, was previously arrested and sent to Chanchalguda prison.
He was granted interim bail on December 13, 2024, by the High Court, under strict conditions to cooperate with the investigation.
In the official notice, Inspector Naik emphasized the necessity of Arjun’s cooperation, stating his presence was crucial for gathering facts and potentially visiting the scene of the incident. Arjun complied and appeared for questioning as instructed.
