Polavara: Are You Not Responsible, Naidu?

TDP chief and former chief minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, gave a PowerPoint presentation to the media on Friday.

He stated that he had completed 70 percent of the project work, including the diaphragm wall, two coffer dams, the earth cum rock fill dam, and even erected one gate for the project.

However, after Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power, the government implemented reverse tendering, causing delays in the work and damages to the project.

He blamed the government for not maintaining the project to withstand the 2020 floods, which led to damages to the diaphragm wall and coffer dams. Readmore!

But what he did not mention was the damage to the diaphragm wall, which now needs to be rebuilt at a cost of Rs 2000 crore.

The diaphragm wall is a key element of the entire project as it prevents water seepage from under the project.

The Chandrababu Naidu government did not take the required care to ensure a strong structure. Moreover, the TDP did not take care in the construction of the upper coffer dam, which prevents the direct flow of water to the project.

This led to damage to the upper coffer dam, and the floodwater hit the diaphragm wall, causing further damage.

Additionally, the TDP also failed to construct the spill channel with the required width to accommodate the floodwater.

The spill channel was too narrow, and it could not handle the flood, which was around 20 lakh cusecs when the damage occurred to the project.

Is Naidu not responsible for all these flaws? Why is the media not questioning Naidu for his total lies?
