PIL Against Naidu For Wasting Public Money!

Bharatiya Janata Party national official spokesman and Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasimha Rao, who has become a thorn in the flesh of Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu of late, is all set to trouble the latter once again.

GVL is now contemplating filing a public interest litigation petition in the state high court seeking to restrain Naidu from wasting public money for political benefits by conducting meetings against the Centre and the BJP and also touring from one place to another for his publicity campaign.

The BJP spokesman said while Naidu was claiming that the state was facing a deep financial crisis, Naidu was heli-hopping from place to place to address political meetings in the name of official programmes.

“We will make him cough up every single paisa he had spent on his luxury trips,” he said. Readmore!

GVL was referring to Naidu’s tours to Delhi, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to meet the opposition party leaders to make them gang up against the BJP government at the Centre.

He alleged that Naidu had toured these places in the capacity of the chief minister at the expense of public exchequer, instead of as party president at his own expenses.

“He says it is a historical necessity to unite all the opposition parties. But in fact, it is his personal necessity that is forcing him to meet the opposition leaders. He is facing existential problem.

“We are not against Naidu meeting other opposition leaders, but are opposing his political tours only at the cost of taxpayers’ money.

“We condemn the misuse of public money on special flights and luxury hotels for political image-building,” he said.
