Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had been keeping away from the people, except when addressing public meetings.
There has been no interaction with them in the last four years. He did not hold darbars as predicted and has lost direct contact with the people.
He used to touch the forehead or head of everyone he met when he was the opposition leader.
However, after coming to power and becoming the chief minister, he kept people at a distance.
The police have been closing roads, shutting shops, and even putting up cloth curtains wherever he travels.
But, in the last two days, he was seen in different moves. The real Jagan Mohan Reddy had come out during his visit to the flood-hit areas.
He walked with the people. He held their hands. He touched their heads. He shook their hands.
He sat on the floor. He took selfies with the young. He walked to a thatched house, keeping aside his security personnel.
That was what was expected from Jagan Mohan Reddy all these years.
People of the Godavari districts were overwhelmed when he walked for them and with them in the last two days.
Hope Jagan Mohan Reddy does this again and again, and won't hide behind security personnel.
