Jana Sena Party president and power star Pawan Kalyan is obviously afraid of admitting that he had snapped ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party, even as he has been moving closely with the Telugu Desam Party.
Knowing fully well that the BJP will not entertain any kind of alliance, directly or indirectly, with the TDP, Pawan Kalyan wants to have the cake and eat it too.
While getting ready to have a seat-sharing alliance with the TDP, he is still trying to hoodwink the people that the BJP is still his friendly party.
Hours after the national news agencies flashed about the exit of Jana Sena Party from the National Democratic Alliance, party president and power star Pawan Kalyan declared that he was very much part of the NDA.
He said the Jana Sena Party was still a partner of NDA and he had highest regard for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah.
“We still have alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party and if at all, we snap our ties with it, I shall declare it quite openly,” he said.
Interestingly, he described his purported statement on severing his relations with the NDA as a conspiracy by the YSR Congress party leaders to gain the political mileage.
“I am very much friendly with the BJP and I hope it will join the TDP-Jana Sena alliance,” he said.
But what wonders everybody is why Pawan Kalyan is talking about the TDP-Jana Sena Party government after the next elections and calling upon the people for the combine of two parties, without making any reference to the BJP.
“It clearly shows that Pawan is very much aware that the BJP will not join the alliance. That is why he is calling for the TDP-Jana Sena government. Yet, he doesn’t want to antagonise the BJP and wants to play safe with it for obvious reasons,” an analyst added.
