OTT movies, web series set to release this weekend

It's great to see that the OTT world is bringing a diverse lineup of content for its audiences. Shahid Kapoor is a well-established Bollywood actor and his fans will be excited to see him in a new light in his digital debut. Similarly, Kajol's family drama Salaam Venky and Ajith's Thunivu will bring a different flavor of content to the platform.

1. Farzi (Prime Video)

Shahid Kapoor is taking the OTT world by storm with his upcoming eight-part series, "Farzi", produced by Raj and DK. This crime thriller is expected to be a fast-paced and intense experience, and features a talented cast including South Indian star Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, Raashi Khanna, Bhuvan Arora, Amol Palekar, and Regina Cassandra. 2. Salaam Venky (Zee5)

The talented Bollywood actress Kajol will be shining in the spotlight with the digital premiere of "Salaam Venky". Originally released in theaters on December 9th, the movie is a heartwarming and emotional drama inspired by the true story of young chess player, Kolavennu Venkatesh, who lived with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) before his passing in 2004. The film features a powerful cast including Aahana Kumra, Rahul Bose, Rajeev Khandelwal, Prakash Raj, Anant Mahadevan, and Priyamani, along with a special cameo by Aamir Khan. 

3. Thegimpu (Netflix)

The action-packed thriller film "Thegimpu" is generating a lot of excitement with its star-studded cast. Ajith Kumar takes on the role of a mysterious man who holds hostages in a bank, keeping the police on their toes as they try to uncover his identity. The film promises to deliver a heart-racing experience, showcasing Ajith's versatility as he tackles a slightly negative character, with a salt-and-pepper look.

Manju Warrier, a well-known figure in the Malayalam cinema industry, stars as the female lead, while other notable actors including Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Veeran, Ajay, and GM Sundar play key roles in the film.
