No MAA Elections In Near Future

The biggest uproar in the MAA association started with the sudden announcement of Prakash Raj that he is contesting with his open panel in the coming elections of the association.

He is doing his politics using Puri Jagannath's office. The members are coming to meet him and discuss various things. But the sitting President and his team are not in the mood to go for election immediately. They need to announce the date.

Due to this Prakash Raj is in unrest now. He jumped into the field too early under the pressure of some biggies.

He feels that the elections should happen when the situation is hot. Delaying things would prove fatal in politics, he believes.

As per the bylaws of MAA, there is no rule that the elected team should get dissolved and go for elections after completing the tenure of two years. There is a provision here that if the President wishes to continue he can do so for six years.

So Prakash Raj's mind is in question mark now. What can he do if the situation is like thi? When he asked to know the date of elections, the advocate from Naresh's side gave a reply explaining the clause in the by laws.

"An elected committee can continue to be in power for six years as per TS Societies Registration Act 2001. There is no clause in our bylaws that a committee cannot rule beyond a certain tenure. As per the custom from the last 28 years, a committee will continue from one election to the next election. Until the new committee comes to power, the present one will continue with complete powers", is the opinion sent by Naresh through his legal advisor.

So, it looks like the election fever in MAA has come down. Will there be any change in his politics to call for elections? We have to see how Prakash Raj reacts to this.
