YSRCP lagging behind TDP in digital media ads?

The ruling YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy appears to be lagging behind its main rival – Telugu Desam Party led by N Chandrababu Naidu, in promoting the party on digital media.

While the YSRCP social media team is very active and quick in promoting the party and running down the opposition on its own social media platforms, it has not been focussing on releasing advertisement to digital media, which are in fact, very active in spreading the news.

On the other hand, the TDP has been bombarding the digital media with its advertisements, particularly focussing on six guarantees.

Even the digital news papers and channels, which are believed to have taken a pro-Jagan stand, are getting massive advertisements from the TDP.

The YSRCP, too, released a few advertisements on Jagan’s Siddham programmes, but they are confined to only a few digital media groups.

Of course, Sakshi digital media platforms, promoted by Jagan’s family, invariably gets these advertisements.

Inquiries revealed that the YSRCP has earmarked Rs 32 crore to its political strategy wing Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) for release of party advertisements to the digital and social media groups, but no advertisement has been displayed by it so far.

Ironically, nobody in the party is monitoring this aspect of releasing advertisement to social media and digital media.

With just two weeks left for the campaigning to end, it is better the party steps up its advertisement campaign on digital and social media.
