The court also instructed the investigating agency to proceed strictly as per rules and ensure there is no delay in the investigation process.

The Supreme Court directed the CBI to continue further investigation in line with the trial court’s orders.

It modified the trial court’s earlier direction that the investigation be completed within a month, stating instead that the probe should be concluded as expeditiously as possible.

Justice Sundresh clarified that there are no restrictions on summoning additional individuals for questioning if required during the investigation, as the trial court’s orders already provide for such provisions.
