USA Box Office: Winter Storm Affected Badly

Winter storms played a decisive role in shaping the North American box office performance of the Sankranthi releases.

During their first week, the market conditions were favorable, occupancy was strong, and word of mouth remained positive across key territories.

Collections stayed steady and confidence was high that these films would comfortably reach their projected milestones before the unexpected weather disruptions began.

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Anaganaga Oka Raju, and Nari Nari Naduma Murari all performed well and entered the breakeven zone, with profits following soon after. Readmore!

However, severe winter storms reduced theater attendance and slowed momentum. As a result, the films fell short of their dream targets despite registering clear hit status.

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu closed its run at 3.3 million dollars, missing the 3.5 million mark. Anaganaga Oka Raju stopped at 1.73 million against a 2 million goal, while Nari Nari Naduma Murari ended at 740,000 dollars, below the 1 million milestone.

The storm ultimately capped otherwise super successful theatrical runs. Stronger weather conditions could have pushed all three films into higher revenue brackets in the North American zone.

Overall, this Sankranthi season provided a significant boost and much-needed relief to the Telugu box office in India as well as North America.
