Telugu Films Battle It Out at the U.S. Box Office

The North American box office witnessed an interesting shake-up on Saturday, with Telugu releases posting varied but telling numbers.

While big-ticket films continued their steady march, smaller releases showed surprising traction, reflecting diverse audience preferences overseas.

Leading the pack was Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, which continued its dream run on Day 6. The Chiranjeevi starrer collected a solid $254K on Saturday, pushing its total North America gross to an impressive $2.64 million. The film’s sustained weekend pull further underlines its strong word of mouth and repeat audience value.

Close on its heels was Anaganaga Oka Raju, which delivered a powerful performance on Day 4. The film earned $244K on Saturday, taking its total to $1.086 million. Classic revival Nari Nari Naduma Murari also made its presence felt. On Day 3, the film collected $124K, with its total standing at $390K, proving that content still has strong takers in North America.

On the lower end, BMW saw limited traction. The film added $20K on Day 5, taking its cumulative North America gross to $184K.

Meanwhile, The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, continued to slow down. On Day 9, the film managed just $9K, with its total North American collection reaching $2.4 million, indicating a sharp drop in audience interest.

Overall, Saturday’s numbers underline the dominance of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu in the overseas market, while also spotlighting the steady rise of mid-range films and the clear fatigue faced by underperforming big-budget ventures.
