What gift Revanth Reddy gave to Naidu?

YSR Congress Party official spokesperson and former MP Gorantla Madhav on Saturday demanded that Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu clearly explain to the people of the state why the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme was shelved, and what “gift” he had received from Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy in return.

Addressing a press conference at the YSR Congress Party central office in Tadepalli, Madhav accused Naidu of repeatedly mortgaging the state’s development for his personal interests.

He alleged that Chandrababu had treated the Polavaram project like an ATM, recalling that even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had once made similar remarks.

The former MP launched a scathing attack on the chief minister, alleging that after being caught red-handed in the ‘vote-for-note’ case, Naidu had fled to Vijayawada despite Hyderabad being the joint capital for 10 years, thereby surrendering Andhra Pradesh’s rightful claims.  Readmore!

He further alleged that in order to extricate himself from that case, Chandrababu Naidu entered into a covert understanding with Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy and stalled the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project.

Gorantla Madhav said Revanth Reddy’s recent statement in the Telangana assembly—where he claimed that he personally spoke to Chandrababu Naidu and ensured that the Rayalaseema Lift project was stopped, and even expressed readiness for verification—has raised serious doubts.

He demanded that Chandrababu Naidu publicly disclose the details of the alleged secret agreement with the Telangana Chief Minister that, according to him, compromised Andhra Pradesh’s interests.

He further alleged that Naidu could not tolerate the goodwill earned by YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and therefore did not hesitate to gamble even with a crucial project like the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme.

Gorantla Madhav also alleged that false cases were being foisted against him merely for questioning the injustices being committed against women and children in the state.
