Day 1: Chiru's MSG Scores Good Opening

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, the Sankranti action-comedy starring Chiranjeevi, hit theatres on January 12, 2026, and opened to an encouraging response at the box office.

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film has received favourable feedback from both critics and audiences, helping it post a solid first-day total.

According to Sacnilk, the film collected around ₹28.50 crore net on Day 1, while advance bookings contributed an additional ₹8.60 crore net.

The film also registered impressive occupancy figures in the Telugu states, with an overall occupancy of 64.66 percent on Monday.

Morning shows began at 48.74 percent, which steadily improved through the day, with afternoon shows at 59.82 percent, evening shows at 71.20 percent, and night shows peaking at 78.87 percent—indicating growing momentum as the day progressed.

In the film, Chiranjeevi plays the titular role of Shankara Vara Prasad, while Venkatesh appears as Venky Gowda. Nayanthara stars as Sasirekha.

The supporting cast includes Catherine Tresa, Zarina Wahab, Harsh Vardhan, Abhinav Gomatam and others.

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is produced by Sahu Garapati, Sushmita Konidela and S. Krishna. The screenplay and writing are handled by S. Krishna, G. Adi Narayana and Anil Ravipudi.
