Megastar Chiranjeevi returns to one of his biggest fortes- comedy, with his upcoming film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, and director Anil Ravipudi deserves credit for crafting such a story.
The director says he isn’t feeling nervous ahead of the release.
“The nervousness has reduced this time, thanks to Chiranjeevi. At the pre-release event, we launched the Hook Step song. Chiranjeevi’s dance and the fun he and Venkatesh created on stage generated such positive energy. It eased me a lot,” he shares.
Anil Ravipudi reveals that beyond the hilarious entertainment, the film also carries a strong emotional core.
“There’s an emotional point we haven’t revealed anywhere- not in the teaser or the trailer. You’ll have to watch it in the theatre. Along with the comedy, there’s a deep emotional layer. The scenes between Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, and the children are extremely heartwarming. The film shows how a husband and wife deal with a major issue from a fresh perspective.”
He also assures that Chiranjeevi’s playful and emotional moments will impress audiences.
“When you have a big star like Chiranjeevi, you need mass elements, fun, and action. We’ve maintained his image and the required scale throughout. Once he understood the character’s rhythm, he effortlessly slipped into Shankara Vara Prasad. His self-satire sequences will be funny.”
Anil Ravipudi adds that working with Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh for 18 days was unforgettable.
“Their combination appears for a solid 20-minute stretch in the film. Venkatesh plays Venky Gowda, a mining businessman from Karnataka. It will be very entertaining and quite different from what he’s done before.”
The director also expressed his desire to make a full-fledged multi-starrer with Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh in the future.
Meanwhile, bookings have opened across both Telugu states, and the film is already trending at the top on ticketing platforms.
