New Jobs: India's AI-workforce To Double By 2027

Artificial Intelligence is eating away old jobs and is expected to create new job opportunities in areas such as data science, analytics and data management.

The government informed Parliament that around 8.65 lakh candidates have already enrolled or been trained in emerging technology courses, including 3.20 lakh in AI and Big Data Analytics.

To improve employability, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology launched the FutureSkills PRIME programme to reskill and upskill IT professionals in 10 advanced technologies.

Over 18.5 lakh candidates have registered on the platform, and more than 3.3 lakh have completed their courses. Readmore!

According to industry estimates, India’s AI workforce is likely to double by 2027, growing at a steady rate.

The government is also supporting startups, students, and youth through AI-focused initiatives in manufacturing, education, governance, and social development, while career opportunities are further supported through the National Career Service portal.
