Harish Rao trying to take over BRS?

A power struggle is going on within the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, with former minister and senior MLA T Harish Rao making an attempt to capture the party by pulling down his cousin and another former minister K T Rama Rao from the hot seat.

This was disclosed by Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy during a press conference in Hyderabad on Thursday.

According to him, there has been a lot of discontent within the BRS against KTR, as the party has failed to win even a single election since KTR assumed the role of working president.

He claimed that with party president K Chandrasekhar Rao becoming inactive in the party and withdrawing from active politics, an internal rift had surfaced within the party. Readmore!

“A section of the party leaders loyal to Harish Rao had begun circulating campaigns on social media demanding KTR’s removal. This is precisely why KTR has initiated district tours primarily to divert attention and prevent the issue from escalating into a public debate,” he said.

It may be mentioned that even KTR’s sister and Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha has made similar allegations accusing Harish Rao of conspiring to split the party and take over the party reins by pulling down KCR and KTR.

Meanwhile, the chief minister also made important comments regarding the ongoing Formula E race case, stating that the investigation is progressing.

He clarified that official approval related to Arvind Kumar is still pending and that necessary action will be initiated immediately after clearance is received from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

On the Messi event controversy, Revanth Reddy categorically stated that it was a completely private programme. He clarified that he attended the event only as a guest and had no official role in its organisation.

“The Singareni Collieries Company had given advertisements as part of the event. I had taken my grandson along purely to encourage him to watch football. We did not take him around pubs or bars,” Revanth Reddy said.
