'Stop Selling Violence as Entertainment!'

Actor Radhika Apte has voiced strong concern over the growing use of graphic violence in Indian films and web series, calling the trend “deeply disturbing.”

Without naming any movie, Radhika mentioned how she is not impressed by onscreen gore and violence.

She also fears bringing up her child in a society that encourages making such movies as entertainment.

Apte criticised filmmakers for confusing shock value with meaningful storytelling.

“I don’t need to see the chopping. That is not storytelling,” she added.

Meanwhile, Radhika will feature in the upcoming OTT release Saali Mohabbat. A crime thriller about love and betrayal, the film will stream on Zee5 from December 12.
