The much-awaited #Akhanda2, the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda, is finally here. Premiere shows have just begun, and the film opens with the story recap of the first part.

Akhanda 2 USA Premieres — Hourly Gross Update (7 AM PST): The film has reportedly collected $176K from 93 locations so far in the United States. A solid start for the premieres.

There is no release in Canada at the moment.

30 minutes into the film. Nandamuri Balakrishna appears in the role of Balamurali Krishna in a fight scene with the punche dialogues about Rayalaseema. The first 30 minutes focused on a Chinese military guy vowing to destroy India and Aghora and his deekha.

One hour into the film: There isn’t much to talk about. The lead sequence between Samyukta and Balakrishna to the ‘Jajikaya” song are totally cringe and boring.

Akhanda2: The first half of the film has no substance. It sets the drama at the interval with the arrivala of Akhanada to save the girl (Harshaali) and also the country from Chinese military officers hatching a evil plan to destroy India by spreading virus in Ganga at the time of Maha Kumba Mela. Boyapati has added devotional elements and patriotic elements but the blend so far is hardly compelling. The less said about Samyuktha’s character and her jajikaya song. The film’s result depends on the second half.

Akhanda2: The half of the second half so far. Only the first fight between young Akhanda and Aadi Pinishetty is good . The rest is routine. Even the second fight involving old Aghora and Aadi Pinishetty is not effective despite lord Hanuman angle involved.

Akhanda 2: Ends with a lengthy fight with Chinese generals, declaring that China cannot defeat India and its dharma. This is an attempt to cash in on current mood in our country but it has no proper screenplay and semblance. Only loud action drama.
