Director Nag Ashwin achieved massive success with Kalki 2898 AD, which was released in theaters last year. However, there is still no clarity on when the shooting for the second part of this sci-fi thriller will resume.
Additionally, rumors have been circulating that Prabhas will not be taking up the sequel to Kalki anytime soon, and that a frustrated Nag Ashwin might move on to a female-centric Bollywood film starring Alia Bhatt.
Amid this speculation, Nag Ashwin addressed questions about Kalki 2 during a media interaction ahead of the re-release of Yevade Subramanyam, his directorial debut.
Starring Nani and Vijay Deverakonda, the film is set to re-release in theaters on March 21, marking ten years since its original release.
“Kalki 2 will likely begin towards the end of this year. We have already started preparations. Prabhas needs to confirm his dates before we can announce an exact schedule, but the project will commence soon,” he clarified, putting an end to rumors of the film being shelved.
Prabhas is currently occupied with projects like The Raja Saab, Fauji, and Spirit.
