The YSR Congress party has been adopting a strange strategy in the ongoing assembly sessions of Andhra Pradesh.
While the party members are attending the legislative council, their MLAs are boycotting the assembly in protest against denying the leader of opposition status to Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The party has surprisingly followed the same strategy even in the regular photo session of the MLAs and MLCs and also the annual sports meet for the state legislators as part of recreation.
While the YSRCP MLAs stayed away from the photo session, the party MLCs took part in it along with the Telugu Desam Party, Jana Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party members.
For the photo session for the MLAs, chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, Speaker Ayyanna Pathrudu, Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishnam Raju, and several ministers were present in the first row. MLAs were seated in the second, third, and fourth rows based on their seniority.
Had Jagan been present, he, too, would have been given the seat next to the Speaker. Since Jagan doesn’t like Ayyanna Patrudu, he would not have sit there even if he attended the session.
In a separate photo session for MLCs, opposition leader in the state legislative council Botsa Satyanarayana got the seat in the front row along with other seniors. During the session, Botsa greeted Pawan Kalyan and both exchanged pleasantries.
At the three-day-long sports competition organized at the Vijayawada Municipal Stadium for MLAs and MLCs, too, the YSRCP MLAs stayed away, while its MLCs took part. YSRCP MLCs Shivarama Reddy and Vanka Ravindranath attended the event.
TDP MLA Adireddy Vasu remarked that it would have been better if YSRCP MLAs had also participated. He further took a jibe at Jagan saying the former chief minister had played with the lives of the people for five years and now, he is skipping the sports meet.
