Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu handed over a â¹25 lakh cheque from the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) to cricketer K. Nitish Kumar Reddy and assured him that a house would soon be allotted to him.
The cheque presentation took place at the Secretariat in Velagapudi on Thursday in the presence of ACA president and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath and ACA secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Sana Satish.
“We will support and encourage international sportspersons from Andhra Pradesh in every possible way. Better facilities will be provided to help them excel,” Naidu said during the event.
Earlier in the day, Sivanath and Satish felicitated Nitish Reddy at the MP’s office. Nitish, a native of Visakhapatnam, shared his experience of playing in his debut Test match for India during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
The MPs also commended Nitish’s father, Mutyala Reddy, for his unwavering support and encouragement throughout his son’s cricketing journey.
ACA president Sivanath reaffirmed the association's commitment to supporting Nitish in honing his skills further.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by ACA vice president Venkatarama Prashanth, treasurer Dandamudi Srinivas, and other dignitaries.
