AP: BJP Leaders In Race For President

This time, there is a campaign suggesting that the BJP president's post will go to Uttarandhra.

Historically, this position has often gone to leaders from the coastal districts, particularly the Godavari districts.

Communities like Kapu and Kamma have also been given more opportunities in the past.

However, there is now speculation that after Kambhampati Haribabu, Uttarandhra may once again secure the president’s post. Readmore!

The party appears inclined to allocate this post to candidates from the BC communities.

Additionally, there is talk of giving the position to social groups that have not held it before.

MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju from Visakhapatnam district is reportedly eyeing this post. Though he aspired to a ministerial position, indications suggest that he is unlikely to receive it.

If appointed BJP state president, it is believed his political stature would be significantly enhanced.

Raju’s supporters argue that since he belongs to the Kshatriya community—one that was not represented in ministerial posts during the alliance—it is only fair for him to be considered for this leadership position.

On the other hand, former MLA PVN Madhav, who represents the BC community, has also entered the race.

Madhav is said to have the backing of CM Ramesh, the Anakapalle MP, and enjoys a strong reputation among central BJP leaders.

According to party insiders, Madhav is seen as having a stronger chance and is expected to secure the presidency in the new year.
