The recent rumors circulating on social media about Andhra Pradesh Minister for Small Scale Industries, Kondapalli Srinivas, bowing at the feet of senior YSR Congress Party leader and Opposition Leader in the Legislative Council, Botsa Satyanarayana, caused significant embarrassment for the minister.
This incident became a hot topic of discussion, not only within the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) but also among members of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and other political circles. As a result, the minister held a press conference to clarify the matter.
Kondapalli explained that on November 11, while heading to the assembly with MLAs, he respectfully greeted Botsa Satyanarayana, whom he encountered along the way.
“It was a gesture of courtesy and culture, not an act of submission,” he clarified.
Expressing disappointment over the misrepresentation of his gesture, the minister stated that it was common for leaders to greet each other respectfully.
“I don’t understand why such courteous behavior is being exaggerated and sensationalized,” he said.
Kondapalli also criticized the spread of fake news on social media, alleging it was a deliberate attempt to undermine the emerging leadership in the district.
Indirectly targeting the Botsa family, he accused them of dominating politics in North Andhra for over two decades.
Taking a dig at the Botsa family, he alleged that they or their associates had monopolized election contests in each constituency.
He also accused them of being involved in land and liquor scams and claimed that the people of Vizianagaram have united to thwart their political success in future elections.
