Even as the sensational episode of the arrest of popular Tollywood actor Allu Arjun over the Sandhya Theatre stampede issue rocked the entire film industry, the Mega family has maintained a stoic silence.
Though megastar Chiranjeevi’s wife Surekha went to Allu Arjun’s residence to call on him after his release from jail and Allu Arjun himself went to the megastar’s residence and that of Nagababu later to seek their support, there was no statement from the mega family on the issue.
At the same time, there was a complete silence from another mega brother and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan. Though he had come to Hyderabad on some personal work, he did not call on Allu Arjun.
But on Saturday, Pawan Kalyan had to encounter this inevitable question during his visit to Rajiv Gandh Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Kadapa town to call on mandal parishad development officer Jawahar Babu, who is undergoing treatment after being attacked alleged by the YSRCP workers.
While he was speaking to media on the incident, a journalist asked him about the recent controversy over Allu Arjun’s arrest. This infuriated Pawan Kalyan, but he sought to maintain composure.
“What is the relevance of this question here? Please ask relevant questions. When people are dying here, would you talk about movies? Think with a bigger heart… think broader,” Pawan Kalyan said.
The deputy chief minister said there were much bigger issues in the Telugu states to talk about than film-related issues.
“Please conduct debate on other pressing matters. Speak about the atrocities happening in Andhra Pradesh right now,” he said, refusing to even utter a word about Allu Arjun.
