Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma surprised everyone on Friday by sharing a picture on X (formerly Twitter) with Vettaiyan star Fahadh Faasil.
Varma, known for classics like Rangeela, Satya, and Bhoot, has been out of the spotlight in recent years due to the declining quality of his recent films.
However, his post sparked rumors and speculation that the two might be collaborating on a new project.
The picture Varma shared showed Fahadh Faasil on what appeared to be a set resembling a cave. In the image, Fahadh is standing with his face angled under golden lighting, giving the scene an eerie vibe.
Varma captioned the post, "1st ever shot I took of Fahadh Faasil and the expression on his face, he directed himself."
This cryptic message stirred excitement among fans, who flooded the comments, speculating that a new film was in the works.
However, hopes were dashed a few hours later when RGV clarified the situation.
He posted another picture with Fahadh and wrote, "For the dumbos who believed the pic in my previous tweet was from a film, it was just a random shot in a decorative tunnel at RGV DEN during Fahadh Faasil's visit."
Fahadh Faasil is currently riding high on the success of Vettaiyan, which is performing well at the box office.
The film also features a star-studded cast, including Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, and Manju Warrier.
Fahadh's next release, Bougainvillea, is set to hit theaters on October 17, 2024.
