When YSR Congress party led by former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was in power, it was a festive time for the party leaders and staff during the Dasara Navaratri celebrations.
They used to get attractive gifts from the Tadepalli camp office those days. Of course, even media persons across the state would get costly gifts like mobile phones and tabs from the then ruling party.
Now that the YSRCP is out of power and Jagan has lost all the glory, such festive atmosphere is missing in the party. The party leaders and the Tadepalli staff had no scope for getting any gifts from the party.
Maybe, to lift the sagging spirits of the party leaders and other staff members of the party at Tadepalli, senior YSRCP leader and former MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy is learnt to have given costly gifts to several YSRCP leaders on the occasion of Dasara.
Sources said Chevireddy presented Apple iPhone 16 PRO mobile phones, each costing not less than Rs 1.60 lakh, to many leaders – right from Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy to chief public relations officer Pudi Srihari. Besides, a few other staff members were also given other costly gifts.
One doesn’t know what interest Chevireddy has in presenting such costly gifts to the party leaders, but it shows how much clout he has in the party.
Maybe, he is aspiring to emerge as No. 2 in the party in the coming days!
