Condom branding for parties in AP!

Even as the actual election campaign is yet to pick up in Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming assembly and Lok Sabha elections, both the ruling YSR Congress party and the opposition Telugu Desam Party have been engaging in social media mudslinging, accusing each other of resorting to "cheap campaigning techniques."

One such campaign involves both parties distributing packets of condoms labeled with their party symbols among the public to attract voters, particularly the youth. This appears to be the latest trend in Andhra.

According to social media reports, a viral video depicts condom packets marked with symbols of the YSR Congress Party and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), allegedly being distributed by party cadres to voters.

The video shows a person discussing how to reduce the number of beneficiaries of government schemes. Apparently, these cadres are distributing the condoms among voters as part of their door-to-door campaigns for the Lok Sabha and assembly polls. Readmore!

However, both parties have criticized each other for distributing condoms, despite each engaging in the same practice. YSRCP, taking to X, has called out the TDP, questioning how low the party will stoop.

"Will it stop with condoms or even start distributing Viagra to the public?" Jagan Mohan Reddy's party asked.

In response, the TDP posted a similar condom pack with the YSRCP logo, questioning if this is the preparedness 'Siddham' the party was talking about.

It remains to be seen to what extent this electioneering will go this time!
