Panic gripped the ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh on Monday following reports that two ministers in the Jagan cabinet tested positive for Coronavirus disease.
While endowments minister Vellampalli Srinivas was detected to have contracted the virus in the morning, minister for backward classes welfare Chelluboina Venugopala Krishna tested positive in the afternoon.
Both the ministers immediately got admitted to hospitals for treatment and asked all those who had come in contact with them, including their followers, party workers and officials in the last few days to undergo tests and take all precautions.
What was more concerning to the authorities was that both the ministers had come in touch with chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the last few days.
In fact, Vellampalli and Venugopal had moved closely with Jagan during the Tirumala Brahmotsavams on Thursday last.
Apart from Jagan, a couple of other ministers and MLAs also took part in the Brahmotsavams.
Even Karnataka chief minister B S Yediyurappa attended the programmes and pictures showed that Vellampalli was moving very closely with Karnataka CM and also TTD executive officer A K Singhal.
Venugopal also took part in the programme of building a new chariot for Lord Lakshmi Narasimha at Antarvedi in East Godavari on Sunday.
Along with him, another minister Dharmana Krishna Das and several other top officials took part in the programme.
He even addressed a press conference and also moved closely with several reporters. Now, all these people are facing anxious moments.
