Naidu Wants To Attend Maha Court

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to have thought he would get more political mileage by attending the Dharmabad court in Maharashtra on September 21 in connection with the 2010 Babli agitation case, rather than looking for legal options to avoid it.

Already, there have been allegations against Naidu that he would manage all the courts and investigating agencies to avoid arrests and court appearances.

If he avoids attending the Maharastra case, too, the allegations against him would be confirmed once again.

So, Naidu told his party functionaries at Amaravati on Monday that he was considering attending the Dharambad court in the Babli case.

“I had not committed any grave offence except for agitating for the people of Telangana. So, I am not afraid of any arrests now. It would be a plus point for us if we respect the judiciary by attending the court proceedings,” he said.

However, the officials told him that the arrest warrant has so far not received by the CMO. Secondly, they said it would be better to exhaust all the legal options before appearing in the court directly.

“We can file a recall petition to stop the arrest warrant. Depending on the court’s response, we can take a decision,” they suggested.

Naidu said he would take a call on attending the court, after discussing with senior party colleagues again on Tuesday.

However, sources said Naidu is preferring attending the court and even necessary, getting arrested, so that it would fetch a lot mileage to him and the TDP, particularly in the Telangana region.
