Naidu Not In The UNO Invitees' List?

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu might have flown to New York claiming that he had been invited by the United Nations Organisation to speak on farmers’ issues, but his name actually figures nowhere in the list of invitees in the UNO meetings.

This was pointed out by Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesman and Rajya Sabha MP G V L Narasimha Rao.

He told media on Monday that the topic: “Financing sustainable agriculture: Global challenges and opportunities,” on which Naidu was supposed to speak at the UN General Assembly at New York on Monday evening was not mentioned anywhere in the UNO list of 313 topics.

“It is obvious that Naidu is trying to fool the people with his false claims. There is absolutely no information from the UNO over the reported speech of Naidu. If there is really such a speech, let him give the web link of his speech video,” Rao demanded.

Expressing doubts over the America tour of Naidu at this stage when the state is getting ready for elections, the BJP MP sought to know whether Naidu had taken the central approval for his US tour, since he had to take the official visa and whether he had permission to speak in the UNO.

Stating that Naidu had an agreement with banks associated with the UNO over obtaining loan to the extent of Rs 16,000 crore, Rao suspected that the chief minister’s visit was only to strike a deal in this regard. He demanded that Naidu should disclose the complete details of his US trip.

The chief minister’s office has earlier claimed that he had got the rare opportunity to speak at the UNO for his immense contribution to promoting zero-budget natural farming in the state by spending Rs 2,500 crore ever year.
